Birds' Nest aka Matt Aucoin

I drew everyone in my class at CCS over the past two weeks, we had to give a presentation for two different classes so it was a perfect opportunity for sketching.
Matt Aucoin is a swell guy with the unfortunate nickname of "birds' nest" for his unkempt hair. His blog is

Frustrated by coding

Well, you may have noticed me trying to overhaul the look of my blog and with it a somewhat new website. THIS is what the main page is supposed to look like, but sadly I could not figure out how to do that with updating new posts. The site is not 100%, far from it. I'll let you know when I add to knew sections. But for now the links on the side go to each part of the site "comics" "sketches" "illustration" "shop" and "links." And if you click on the word "news" on those pages it should take you back to this blog. Thanks for bearing with me.

It Happened At Work ... 5

Unfortunately for Keny he kept saying entertaining things. Again check out his site HERE

This is a drawing I did after a really horrible one of Melissa. She's got great comics, her mini "Freddy" is a favorite of mine. You can see her blog HERE

Keny Widjaja

This is in the same style as the visiting artist series of drawings but this one is of my fellow CCS classmate, Keny Widjaja. He's probably not happy that I'm posting this but I'll put a link to his site to try to make up for that. Check out Keny's amazing artwork HERE!

More Batman

I call this one "emotional Batman" ... I think of him as being grief stricken for the death of Jason Todd.

Here's an extra Batman ...

It Happened At Work ... 4

This strip may not be 100% factual. I really enjoyed the Spike Jonze film, though.

On Friday Seth gave a watercolor demo, it was amazing! You can see just how close I was to him here on CCS's Flickr Page

Seth Part One

Seth came to the Center for Cartoon Studies this week. He gave a great talk where he read 12 (I think) short stories and played a random slide-show of his artwork behind him.

De Haven Strikes Again

Check out my friend Jen Vaughn's sketch of De Haven HERE. Most of these word balloons are about Harold Gray's "Little Orphan Annie."

Tom De Haven

Tom de Haven came to visit this past week at CCS ... I think I'm going to do a sketch series like this for the visiting artists, it's fun!

Also, you may have noticed that I have rerouted my main website to this blog. The old website is still kicking around HERE if you want some vintage Yoder doodles.

Jam comic page 8

This is one of the other main characters in the jam comic. Don't worry there are pee and other bodily fluid jokes later on so none of it is too serious.

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

Are you there?

This is page 7 of an epic jam comic drawn with fellow CCS-er, Mark Bilokur. We drew it in a tiny, knock-off moleskin mostly during visiting artist lectures.
